GCell is an autologous micrograft approach. A small sample of a patient’s own healthy scalp tissue is collected, mechanically processed using the GCell system, and prepared for targeted administration into areas affected by hair thinning.
GCell is designed to support existing hair follicles in thinning areas. Unlike a hair transplant, it does not relocate intact hair follicles from one area of the scalp to another.
DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
GCell may be considered for people with early-to-moderate pattern hair thinning. These are common changes that may prompt you to ask about treatment; your doctor will confirm the cause of your hair loss.
Gradual hair thinning affecting the hairline, temples or crown.
Reduced hair coverage around the crown, making the scalp more noticeable.
Reduced hair density and fullness while existing hair follicles remain viable.
POTENTIAL BENEFITS OF GCELL
GCell is used with the aim of supporting hair growth in selected thinning areas. These are possible benefits; results vary between individuals.
Some patients may notice less excessive hair fall over time, depending on the cause of their hair loss and their response to treatment.
GCell may help increase hair density in responsive areas, making thinning hair appear fuller and less sparse.
Existing hair may gradually become thicker in suitable areas, contributing to a stronger-looking, more voluminous appearance.

Answers to common questions about GCell, including suitability, recovery, cost and hair-loss treatment options.
GCell is an autologous micrograft treatment. A small sample of your own healthy scalp tissue is processed and prepared for use on selected thinning areas.
No. GCell uses micrografts prepared from your own scalp tissue rather than relocating intact hair follicles like a transplant. Your doctor can explain what the GCell preparation contains and how it is administered.
GCell may be considered for selected patients with early-to-moderate pattern hair thinning. Suitability depends on the type of hair loss, scalp health and whether existing follicles are still responsive.
GCell may not be suitable for advanced or scarred bald areas, active scalp infection or inflammation, or sudden unexplained shedding. Your doctor will also review medical conditions, medications and healing risks before recommending treatment.
Local anaesthesia may be used during scalp sampling. Temporary tenderness, redness, swelling, bruising or minor bleeding can occur. Less commonly, infection, delayed healing or a small scar may develop.
The treatment plan and timing of visible changes vary by person. Results are not guaranteed, and hair loss may continue over time. Your doctor will recommend a follow-up schedule to review your response.
The price depends on your scalp assessment, areas being treated and treatment plan. LiV Clinic can provide a personalised quotation after consultation.
PRP uses a concentrated portion of your blood. GCell and Regenera Activa both involve scalp-tissue micrografts, but use different preparation systems. Your doctor can explain which approach is appropriate for you.
Appointment length and scalp-washing instructions depend on the procedure and your recovery. LiV Clinic will explain the expected session time and aftercare before treatment.
